In the spring of 2012, after stumbling across the Crossfit main site, Joey attempted to do his first crossfit workout inside his school’s exercise facility. What seemed to be an easy workout on paper quickly turned into a grueling and humbling experience for him. He knew that in order to get the most out of the programming, he needed to find a real Crossfit gym. That summer, he joined what was then Rogue Fitness and quickly fell in love with the atmosphere and competitiveness that thrived inside. After watching his first Crossfit Games Regionals in 2013, it was that very competitive nature that led him to be a competitor rather than a spectator at the event in 2014. As a trainer, Joey hopes to instill that same competitive drive, whether it be to compete or more importantly improve one’s health, into everyone at his second home, Crossfit Grandview.
